I really identify with thiis article. Every Christmas I hear about people in shopping malls fighting over the IT toy and I cringe. I don't remember presents from childhood, I remember traditions. My daughter's birthday being a couple weeks after Christmas has allowed us to make some guidelines in this, her first year of holidays. We are celebrating Christmas with one gift, and many traditions, and then saving other gifts for her birthday. I am glad that other parents are trying to make the shift.
